“You don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to get it going.”
We’ve all been there.
We have a vision. A goal. A breakthrough we’re yearning to experience.
But instead of moving forward, we wait.
We wait for the timing to be right…
For the perfect plan to magically fall into place…
For the fear to disappear…
For the clarity to arrive like a lightning bolt.
But what if clarity doesn’t come before action—
What if it’s a result of it?
Waiting Doesn’t Create Breakthroughs—Action Does
Throughout my years as a martial artist, speaker, and coach, I’ve seen this truth play out again and again:
In martial arts, a student doesn’t gain skill by reading about kicks and punches. They learn by stepping on the mat. By trying, failing, adjusting—and trying again. Each repetition, no matter how imperfect, becomes a building block of mastery.
The same applies to our lives.
Whether you’re leading a team, building a business, navigating a personal challenge, or stepping into a new season of purpose—
Action is the bridge between where you are and where you want to be.
Not perfect action.
Not guaranteed-success action.
Just aligned, courageous, inspired action.
The Illusion of "Ready"
Let’s be honest. We often think we need to be fully ready before we start.
But being “ready” is a myth.
Think about a time when you stepped into something meaningful—your first leadership role, launching a project, having a difficult conversation, beginning a journey of change.
Were you really ready? Or did you become ready through the doing?
Here’s the truth:
👉🏼 Confidence is not a prerequisite for action.
👉🏼 It’s a byproduct of it.
Each step you take creates momentum. Each decision builds your courage muscle. Each small move forward activates the clarity you couldn’t find by sitting still.
As the old proverb says:
What’s your next one?
From Information to Motion
In our information-saturated world, it’s easy to get stuck in learning mode.
We read books. Listen to podcasts. Watch inspirational videos. Take notes. Create color-coded plans.
And don’t get me wrong—those are all valuable.
But at some point, you have to make a shift…
From gathering information to generating motion.
Action is what turns ideas into impact.
So let me ask you:
Send the email. Make the call. Start the draft. Sign up for the class. Book the meeting. Set the alarm clock. Speak the truth. Say yes. Or say no.
Whatever it is, let it be small—but real. Let it be imperfect—but honest. Let it be inspired—and let it be now.
Inspired Action vs. Impulsive Action
There’s a difference between busywork and breakthrough work.
Impulsive action is reactionary. It’s driven by stress, ego, or the fear of missing out.
Inspired action is aligned. It’s rooted in clarity, even if only a small sliver of it. It connects to your deeper “why.”
Inspired action doesn’t mean you barrel ahead without thought. It means you honor what you do know and move from there.
It’s not about leaping blindly. It’s about stepping boldly.
One foot at a time.
Your Breakthrough Starts Here
You don’t have to wait for January 1st.
You don’t need someone else’s permission.
You don’t need to feel fearless.
And you certainly don’t need to have it all figured out.
Your breakthrough begins not in the future—
But right now.
In this moment.
With this choice.
So I challenge you…
👉🏼 What’s the next bold move you can make?
👉🏼 What action can you take that your future self will thank you for?
Lead with courage.
Move with purpose.
Act with heart.
Because your inspired action today…
Might be the very thing that unlocks the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.
Let’s get it going.
